I turn the bar in the middle of the handle on my metal working lathe.
Cutting to length with a hand saw.
The bar is put back in the chuck to form a shoulder.
The parts for the handles are sanded and any sharp edges removed.
This is what a handle looks like prior to fixing to the box.
I made a jig to drill the holes in the drawer fronts to accept the handles.
A similar jig is made to drill the holes for the single handle in the middle of the top.
The final process is finishing. I applied several coats of finishing oil over a number of days. I then gave the box a couple of coats of wax which gives a nice sheen.
